The staff were very friendly, happy to recommend food on the menu and also let us customise some of the food (let us have rice / fries instead of potatoes).
The food was absolutely amazing, highly recommend the fish soup if you like creamy soup. We also had the meatballs, salmon and grilled chicken, all of which I would absolutely recommend as well. Portions were very generous for a fair price, and we left both times feeling very satisfied and happy.- Service

The staff were amazing, lovely atmosphere. I am very grateful to have a good vegetarian option of schnitzel. Which tasted better than my Quorn back home! Highly recommend all the desert options and local cider as well.

We enjoyed our dinner and the service was really good, even tho there was lots of guests when we arrived. We brought a dog, and it was no problem, the waitresses often stopped to compliment the dog. Over all a very good experience.

Family run. Very pleasant inside. Gracious host/owner. We had the salmon and the meatballs. Both excellent.

Svigermors kjøttkaker tasted outstanding! Very friendly staff that offered us free coffee after the meal. We’ll be back!

The salmon was great. My husband had the Norwegian meatballs ( I had a few tastes) and they were excellent . Loved that it was being family run.

It tasted like home cooking in the best way - like the tasty food your Norwegian grandma would make. :) We were there on the last weekend they were open for the season, and I was glad to have a good food option other than the one large hotel in town.I ate here twice during my stay in Balestrand, and both meals were excellent! The fish soup was quite good, and the salmon with potatoes and vegetables was the best I’ve had! Very friendly and comfortable service with reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
We visited in early June before the village was teeming w/ tourists so we didn't experience the delays that others have. Warm welcome by the host, delicious fresh salmon, fresh produce. Nice touch of tablecloths and flowers. Fully satisfied, we ate 3 times there, dinners, lunch. Staff was outstanding and kind, good sense of humor.
